Whitney

Style- Sassy Jazz, Cheer, and Pom

Whitney “Queen” Hinton is a dancer, cheerleader and choreographer from Raleigh, NC trained in Martha Graham Modern Dance, Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Cheer/Tumble. She began her dance career as an apprentice to Kirstie Tice at the North Carolina Dance Institute in Raleigh, NC; where she trained in Jazz, Ballet, and Hip-hop. Whitney was a member of the Leesville Middle School Dance Company training in multiple styles. At Leesville, she learned how to command the stage under the instruction of Emily Holcomb.

 

In High School, Whitney was a member of the Broughton High School Dance Company “Capital Attitude” where she trained in Martha Graham Modern Dance and Stage Production under Krystal Tyndall. “Tyndall” taught all her students how to creatively navigate pathways, levels, musicality and stage production. Additionally, Whitney was a member of the highly competitive BHS Cheerleading program. She was a founding member and choreographer for the BHS Hip-hop Dance Team “Shyne”.

 

 

Whitney attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, graduating in 2010 with a B.S. in Biology. During her collegiate career, she was a member of the UNCW Dance Team as well as the UNCW All-Girl Cheerleading Team. Whitney was also an original member and choreographer for the UNCW Hip-Hop Dance Crew “Physical Graffeeti”. 

 

 

After graduating she joined the renowned dance and modeling group Eclipse Productions which progressed her into becoming a true professional dancer. With Eclipse Productions, she trained harder than ever in Black Majorette/Band Styles, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, and Modeling under Neal Moore, James Alonzo, et al. The elite training with Eclipse Productions progressed her dance career into opportunities to teach classes throughout Atlanta, GA and Raleigh, NC.

 

 

In 2019, Whitney became a professional cheerleader with the Hunnies performing high energy cheer/dance routines for the Raleigh Firebirds and the Fayetteville Marksman. In 2020, she attended ALL PRO Convention in Atlanta, GA with the Hunnies Cheerleaders where she was honored to train with NFL and NBA Coaches and Professional Cheerleaders. Whitney will be teaching pop-up dance series such as “Street Jazz” at Pink Cherry Pole and Dance Studio starting in 2022.
