Jay

Dance Style- Hip-Hop Fusion

Jay was born in Hartsville, SC where he began dancing at age 13. He was inspired to dance by  his older brother and watching music videos. At age 15, Jay danced with Brenda Cranford School of dance participating in Competition Hip-Hop and Jazz. He continued to dance in college and became a member of Delta Phi Delta Dance Fraternity, Inc.

Professionally, Jay had the opportunity to be a background dancer for Just Fine - The Mary J Blige Tribute Band event at Seven Springs Farm and Vineyard in Norlina, North Carolina.

Jay chose Pink Cherry because from the moment he stepped in the door he instantly felt like he was at home. He really enjoyed taking classes from Khalil and Clarissa and knew it was a studio where he would enjoy dancing while also becoming better at his craft. Jay came in one day and the receptionist told him that they were hiring for new dance instructors. Teaching has always been a dream of his, so he applied and got hired. Since becoming a dance instructor at "The Pink," Jay has met some amazing people who have become his dance family and that have pushed him beyond his perceived limits. Jay's goals are to become a more versatile dancer and to incorporate more dance styles into his Hip Hop Fusion Class. Jay also aspires to become a stronger pole dancer and would like to be able to teach pole dance classes in the future. He looks forward to expanding his dance resume.
